6 November Week 4
Tell Sliver Pete In My Words
In 1885, an 8 year old boy lived in the West with his little sister and parents who ran the town delivery stable . His town was fine and unharmful except for one man Sliver Pete. Sliver Pete always carried a Colt 45. Sliver Pete didn't like to work but he was a cow-poke for a few months out of the year. Otherwise Sliver Pete would cheat at cards and killed anybody who called him on it. The townspeople ended up putting a $20,000 reward for anybody who could run Sliver Pete out of town, or put him in his grave.
One very windy day the stage coach arrived with a very unusual passenger. The boy was there as his job, was to hydrate the horses.

Q4: Some research indicates that the CO2 from cars etc is what is causing the ice caps to melt at a much faster rate Zoe. Great thinking going on here and also a very empathetic response [another word to look up perhaps :-).
Week 10 Homework "Climate Change"
1. Tarawa Atoll was formed by coral building up over a close-to-the-surface mountain. The coral builds up and becomes an atoll.2. The I-Kiribati (people of Kiribati) are afraid of their islands going underwater and have already had two small, unhabited atolls go under water.3.4. I agree with the people of Kiribati (I-Kiribati). I believe their islands goingunder is due to global warming. I think we should take action and do the small things such as ,walking, cycling, scootering, carpooling instead of driving. This will make a difference and save the islands of Kiribati. If the people of Kiribati can get drinking water every evening and walk everywhere and be so happy and so grateful for what they have, can't we put in a helping hand? Because to be truthful, I don't think we're as grateful as we should be for what we have. It is partly our fault although I do believe that the ice caps melting is also a playing part in this. But the people of New Zealand and other countries should take action for the islands of Kiribati!
